Guests represent redemption customers and their redemption balances.
Guest Settings
- From Redemption, click Setup.
You can't access setup if there are any open guests.
- Double-click Settings.
- Open the Guests tab.
- A table with 16 guests will appear. By default, only 4 are active, meaning the maximum number you can have open at once is 4.
- Click any of the guests to customize its settings as described below:
- Description: This lets you customize what this particular guest is called.
- Active: If Yes is selected, you will be able to add this guest to your screen and the Active cell in the guest table will read Yes, as opposed to No. The total number of active guests will be the maximum number you can have open a once.
- Guest Color: This lets you select the background color that will display for this guest when it is open.
- Text Color: This lets you customize in what color the Description will appear.
- When you have finished customizing all the guests you need, click OK.
Guest Functions
A site can perform most standard guest functions using just a barcode scanner and the Redemption Barcodes.pdf file in C:\Program Files (x86)\CenterEdge Software\Docs, which is included on any station with Redemption installed. The sheet is also available here. A scanner, however, is not required. User Function Keys are on-screen buttons you can add to execute these actions manually.
- From Redemption, click Setup.
You can't access setup if there are any open guests.
- Double-click User Functions.
- There are 11 visible buttons you can customize to display on the screen when a guest is selected. The Reserved button holds the place of the up and down navigation arrows and you can't change it. Available button types are:
Clear: Removes all redemption items from the current transaction but leaves all the tickets in the transaction.
Delete Item: Removes one line in the redemption transaction. In addition to removing redemption items, this can also remove tickets from the transaction if the ticket type can be deleted and the redemption user has permission to delete tickets.
Return Item: Instead of removing a selected item from the transaction list, it sets its quantity to a negative value and applies its value in tickets to the current guest’s ticket total.
Change Quantity: After selecting an item, using this button lets you change the quantity of that item between 1 and 999 units.
Add Tickets Manually: Lets tickets be added to the transaction based on ticket type and number.
Add Tickets Without Winnings: Adds tickets to the transaction but does not add any reward points to the customer account as a result.
Add Tickets From Receipt: Adds tickets from a printed receipt to the current transaction or customer account.
Add Tickets From Smart Center: Allows tickets to be added from a feed ticket reader (a reader that collects and stores read tickets) either directly or from a barcode printed from the ticket reader.
Add Tickets From Card: Displays a prompt to scan or swipe a customer reward card. Tickets stored on that card’s account can be added to the transaction.
Add Tickets From Scale: Adds tickets to the transaction based on the weight of tickets on an attached ticket scale. Scales are added and configured via Redemption Station Setup.
Round Tickets: Adds a set of tickets to the current transaction only. Rounded tickets cannot be added to a customer’s account and are usually used to give a customer the few extra tickets (normally five to ten) they require to purchase an item from the redemption application.
Select Customer: Brings up the standard customer search window. This is used to associate a specific customer as the guest, so the transaction and its rewards are associated with that customer.

Opening, Closing, and Accessing Guests
The Redemption window, unless you are in Setup, will always have an Add Guest button, which you can click to open a new guest.
Once one or more guests are open, you can click them or scan their associated barcode to access them. The Redemption Guest Barcodes.pdf document is in C:\Program Files (x86)\CenterEdge Software\Docs on any station where Redemption is installed as well as here.
When the guest is open, the screen above will appear and you can perform any of the actions described in the previous section. To exit this particular guest without closing it, and return to the list of guests, click Guest List near the bottom of the screen.
Alternatively, you can click Close Guest or scan the Close Guest barcode from the Redemption Guest Barcodes.pdf document, when a guest is selected, to completely close out the guest.
