The device is the sleekest, next generation terminal with widescreen design and a swivel base that allows team members to turn the screen to face guests when necessary. The Razor also offers a widescreen layout for the Advantage applications, and a flatter base with a smaller footprint than the legacy station. FAQs
What are the requirements for upgrading?
Sites must be using Advantage version 24.1 (LTS), or higher.
What are the advantages of the Razor POS?
The Razor POS offers Windows 11 capability, that will be upgradeable to future versions. It is sleeker and more modern in appearance, and has a swivel base that makes it easy to show guests the screen, which is especially useful during transactions involving waivers or membership agreements.
What does the Razor POS come with?
The Razor features a 15.6” touch screen (widescreen format) and comes with a MSR (swipe) and Fingerprint Reader. A standard Epson Receipt printer is also available with the Razor.
Can I process credit card payments with the Razor POS?
Yes. Accepting payments at the Razor POS will require a supported PIN pad (sold separately) which connects to the station via USB connection in the base.
Can I use my Existing PIN pads with the Razor?
Yes. You can use these via standard connectors.
How do gift cards and player cards from cashless systems like Embed/Intercard/Sacoa/etc. work?
Depending on your integration, the POS should be equipped to read magstripe (default, included) or NFC chip data. The readers work with the Advantage applications in the same manner as previous POS hardware. There will be little difference in day to day operations using the Razor POS, including with external gift cards.
Can I operate both older all-in-one and new Razor POS stations together?
Yes, it is not necessary to replace all older all-in-on units as long as they are running at least Windows 10, and still perform as expected.
How do I order a Razor station?
Contact Support by opening a ticket or emailing support@centeredgesoftware.com.
Does the Razor have a USB port or any other expandability?
Yes, additional devices, such as an NFC chip reader, handheld barcode scanner, cash drawer, etc. can be connected using the variety of ports in the base. WiFi and Bluetooth are not standard with the Razor POS.
Can I use Receipt printers that I already have in service with the Razor?
Yes. You can purchase the Razor without a new Epson receipt printer, and instead configure/connect older devices. These should work as long as they have previously.
