POS Screen Design is a setup feature in POS, that lets you add screens, buttons and tenders to the interface cashiers will use daily. You can edit these for your entire facility, or customize them by Division and/or Station.
Accessing POS Screen Design
- From POS, press Setup.
You must have the correct Security Rights to access this.
- Press Start Pos Screen Design.
- Screens can be customized by Division, Station, or Week Day, meaning if a Station is part of a Division, it will use the screens configured for its Division, or if it has a Station specific or Week Day setup that overrides those settings. Before you begin editing screens, you should always verify you are editing the correct Division, Station, and/or Week Day.
- From the bottom of the screen, select the Division, Station, and/or Week Day you want to edit.
- For example, if you wanted to edit the Screens for all the Stations in every Division, but only the screen that displays on Tuesdays, you would select Entire Site, or All Divisions in the Divisions field, All Stations in the Stations field, and Tuesday in the Day of Week field.

Screens
Screens are tabs, which you can switch between to access different parts of your POS. There are some special function Module Screens, as well as regular POS Screens, which you use to sell items.
To edit or create new Screens, press Edit Screens from Pos Screen Design.
All Screens, regardless of if they are a Module Screen, have a list of Action Buttons to the right that let you perform a variety of tasks
Non-Module Screens
By default, new Screens you add will not be module screens. This means the screen will be made up of a page of empty, customizable buttons.
- After pressing Edit Screens, press Add to create a new one.
- Enter a Screen Name to identify the screen, such as "Food."
- Leave << No Module >> selected in the Module Screen field.
- Verify Yes is selected next to Show Screen if you want this screen to show up on the POS.
- Configure the Key Groups tab if necessary.
- Key Groups are another way of organizing your buttons visually. When you are configuring buttons on a screen, you can select a Button Group, according to the groups you create in this tab. This changes the background color behind the button to make identifying related items easier.
- Press OK.
- Your new screen will appear as a tab at the top.

- Press Edit or Add.
- Select the Button Type.
- This can be one of three options:
Sell Item: This type lets you add a retail item to a transaction in the POS.
Membership: This type lets you sell a membership at the POS.
Apply Discount: This lets you add a discount button to the main POS screen.
- This can be one of three options:
- Select the item, membership, or discount to associate with the button from the pull-down below.
- If this is a Sell Item button, enter a Head Count to record upon sale if applicable.
- Configure the Button Information fields as necessary.
- Button Text lets you enter the text that displays on the button if you want it to be different from the existing item name, membership name, or discount name. Leaving this empty will display the original name on the button.
- Text Alignment determines the position of the text on the button with a combination of Center/Middle, Bottom, Top, Left, or Right.
- Button Group lets you choose from the options you configured in the Key Groups tab in POS Screen Setup to categorize your buttons. This changes the color around the button and is separate from the button's main background color.
- Image Alignment, lets you determine the placement of a background image on the button if the image doesn't fit the size of the button.
- Load Image, and Clear Image, let you add and delete background images respectively.
- Button Color lets you select a background color for the button. This is separate from the Button Group color, and will also display behind any background images that don't fit the button size.
- Text Font determines what font the button text displays in.
- Text Color lets you set what color the text is on the button.
- Show Button determines if the button displays on the POS and lets you disable a button temporarily if you don't need it.
- Auto Apply, when set to Pass or Refund, automatically applies a pass to the transaction, or makes the transaction a refund.
- Press OK when you are done configuring the button.
- Repeat this process for any additional buttons you want on this screen.
Module Screens
In addition to regular POS screens, you can create one of three types of Module Screens that let you sell capacity controlled items, such as Area items, Classes, or Movies (Theatre) items.
- After pressing Edit Screens, press Add to create a new one.
- Select Movies, Classes, or Capacity Area as the Module Screen.
- Configure the Classes, or Areas tab as necessary.

- Press OK.
Classes module screens also have four regular POS buttons you can configure as described above, including with Key Groups if necessary.
Tenders
Tender Buttons are the buttons you create to represent different methods of paying for a transaction, such as cash, credit card, discounts, or reward points.
- From POS Screen Design, press Setup Tenders.
- On the next screen are twenty customizable buttons. The Tender Types used in configuring these are set up as Till Codes in Manager Console.
- Press an empty button.
- Select the Tender Type, which is the Till Code a customer can use to pay for a transaction.
- Design the button as you would a normal POS button.
- Press OK.
- Repeat this process for any other tenders you want to be available as payment types.
Design Shortcuts
There are a few ways to speed up the process of designing buttons if you need to copy some or all of the button configurations.
Copy the Entire Button
Press Ctrl while clicking and dragging a button to copy the entire button, including the Button Type and Sell Item to a new button.
Copy the Button Design
Press Alt while clicking and dragging a button to copy the design elements, such as colors and fonts, to another button. The button you are copying the design to must already be set up and can't be an empty button.
Move a Button to Another Screen
Click and drag a button and hover it over the title of the screen you want to move the button to. Still dragging the button, move to an empty button and release to place the button. This will remove the button from its current screen to this screen.
