Access Control is an application that facilitates the check-in of passes or barcode tickets and can be attended or unattended. The use of Access Control requires a mobile license, creation of a Device Class via the Card Tech application, creation of a Device Group in Manager Console, and configuration of a Validation Device. The application is available on the Windows App Store and you can only install it in Windows 10.

- Each button can be highlighted in green, which indicates what action will take place when a card is swiped, scanned, or manually entered. Manual Entry is not a part of the highlighted set of buttons, and displays in blue. - Scan or swipe the card, or, if selecting Manual Entry, enter the card number.
- Access Control supports input from barcode and keyboard wedge scans, as well as magstripe swipes, but not from RFID bands. When inputting a card, if there is an invalid scan or swipe, an error will occur. Otherwise, it will be processed. If there is a failure after this point, another error and an accompanying sound will occur. A timeout will result in an error with a different sound. If the scan or swipe processes successfully, a result displays based on which button was highlighted at the time of the scan or swipe. During this process, no other scans will be accepted.
- If Card/Ticket information was selected, this will return information such as the current balance and customer information, and you will have access to transactions from recent history.
- If Check In was selected, a pass use will be deducted or a ticket will be checked in. Additionally, any customer information displays and will remain on the screen until the next scan or swipe, at which point it will immediately disappear. The border color of the resulting information will be green or red depending on scan or swipe success or failure respectively.
