Card Tech is a part of the Advantage Suite that manages MC40s and turnstiles. Once these devices are set up on their end, Card Tech is configured to detect the devices and process cards using them, including reading discounts, time play, and free play.
Add a Device Class
A Device Class allows grouping of similar devices such as “Driving Games”. When devices are in a class the device messages will be shared and readers can be grouped together for reporting.
- From Card Tech, click Setup.
- Click Device Class Maintenance.
- Click Add.
- Enter a unique Device Class Number.
- Enter a Description.
- Optionally, select a Normal Color.
- Select a VIP Color if necessary.
- Click OK.
Add a New Device
- From Card Tech, click Create New Device.
- Enter a unique Device ID.
- Enter a Description.
- Select the Type Of Device.
- Select a Device Rating.
- Select a Device Class.
- Select a Device Division.
- Choose whether to Allow Discounts.
- Choose whether to Allow Time Play.
- Choose whether to allow Free Play.
- Choose whether to allow Multi Prompt.
- Select a Device Status.
- Open the Device Prices tab.
- Click Add A Device Price.
- Select the Type Of Price.
- Enter a Normal Price
- Enter a VIP Price.

- Select the device.

How do I change messages displayed by a device?
Devices configured in Card Tech display a message for every possible state of the device. For example, if a device is disabled temporarily, there will be a message for that. This includes idle messages.
- Click Setup.
- Click Device Messages Maintenance.
- Click Edit.
- Next to the Description you want to edit, enter the Display Text that shows on the device.
- Click OK.
How do I disable a device?
Disabling a device prevents it from being used for any reason. A disabled device is grayed out in Card Tech.
- Select the device.
- Click Edit device settings.
- Select Disabled for Device Status.
- Click OK.
How do I connect a device to a card engine?
Power outages or general connectivity issues can cause issues with the card engines connecting properly. You can manually connect device engines in the event of an outage.
- Click Connect all engines.
Warning: Wait at least 30 seconds for the devices to come back online. - Select the device.
- Click Refresh status.
- You can also attempt to refresh the device’s status in the event the engine is online but may not be showing correctly.
How do I limit what devices appear?
If you have a lot of devices, it may be beneficial to filter them so you aren’t overwhelmed by devices that may not even be useful to what you need to do, especially in the case of disabled devices. Devices can be filtered by their Status.
- From the main screen in Card Tech, select a Filter.
